13" wheels on a Fury IRS

Thinking of putting some sticky rubber on the Fury, however it's currently running 14" wheels - options are 888's or switching to 13's

Has anyone with a Fury IRS and rear Sierra brakes got 13" wheels to fit as the clearance to the calipers looks like it's going to be close - my preference would be Compomotive CXR's (which are just about to go back into production for anyone who wants any)

Thanks.

I think the issue is normally with the return spring on the handbrake lever. Runs in my mind there are modified springs available. Think the cable bracket might need a tweek as well.

Found this about springs on locostbuilders... http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthr ... tid=178955

Have you tried Steve @ Fury Sports Cars ?

The dark blue car he is currently building with Image wheels had some issues with the rear brakes I think it might have been wilwoods on the rear that had to be changed back to the originals but i cant remember what the original calipers were/are.

worth a try.

I've Compomotive CXRs in 13" rims on my Fury R1. They run over standard Sierra rear calipers.

I have used 10mm spacers to get caliper clearance but I'm also using the same size and offset wheels front and back.

Yes, the main issue was not the size of the calipers but the clearance on the handbrake mechanism. The 10mm spacers gave me plenty of clearance. The alternative is to use a different offset wheel but when I bought mine I didn't know what they should be, so I kept the front and rear wheels the same. Actually handy as I can swap the fronts/rears to get more even tyre wear, though with my driving style there doesn't seem to be much difference and they all wear quite evenly (and very quickly!) :-)
