Hi all,
as mentioned earlier I am going trough a small rebuild of my MK3 Striker to get it on the German roads.
Yesterday i have seen that the upper wishbone is likely modified to give it a bit more camber (or less as it is negative ).
or is this the original design??? Does anyone have the original numbers for camber and so on for the outboard Suspension?
Maybe some has also the exact dimensions of the wishbone.

Another question is what Kind of Shocks I should use, it Looks like there is only a small travel left over.

Just remove one shock and spring then measure the open and closed lengths , contact the manufacturer of choice and they will advise their unit to use. Front spring lbs will be higher than the rear so the short piston room visible in the photo isn't a problem . I run a lot less than that on the front with springs to suit without issues.

thanks for the quick answer. I thought 4-5cm Piston travel could be a Problem (without noticing that during test drives..)

it looks almost identical to my original Mk 4 Suspension.

My mk3 had the same wishbone but we modified the end and elongated the holes to adjust the ball joint for camber. It works fine and never moves.
Your shock top mount is short like mine moving the top of it closer into the chassis. Of the few pics I can find of other mk3 suspension I've only seen the same as the picture of the mk4, you can see it's longer.
I always thought mine had been modified, unless yours has also.

Phoeniy, thanks for your Picture that was what I was looking for. As you can imagine it is not easy to find Pictures of other Striker outboard suspensions. I found some on LCB form a guy called Jim Spencer, but his had the top ball Joint mounted beneath the wishbone what made me even more confused...

If you compare your wishbone with mine you can see that where the "cross member" of the A Joints the two "legs" of the A there is an additional welding joint what yours does not have. Also the alignment of the two legs from the A is a bit out of the line in these area.
Maybe you can give me the measures of your A Frame? See attached Picture. I like your design, the struts go straight between the points where the Forces are applied. (understandable?)

Measurements for your Picture:
Bushings middle to middle is 176 mm.
Bushings center to Vauxhall Ball Joint Middle is 172 mm.

1,5 to 2,0 degrees of negative Camber should be best.
Looks like somebody cut your Wishbones and welded them for Camber adjustment.

hm...we have 2 striker Mk4 in our circle of friends, but the upper wishboes are round tube and the end, where the upper ball joint is located looks a bit more "attractive".

anyway...what year is your striker (@isleman) and what year is your phoenix (@phoenix)?

front hubs are vauxhall with a vauxhall PCD (98mm if i remember?), rear is 108 (ford)?

@iseleman: could it be that you have a MK4 chassis where somebody adapted a striker body?

you already have a seperate nose-cone..wasnt this established by RAW?

Strikers with outboard suspension are Mk3 Strikers, not many of them were made.
The outboard suspension on a mk4 full bodied will likely be a rebodied mk3.

I have Kind of an order confirmation signed by Jeremy in `89 where he confirmed it as a MK3. Also there is a Body pack in the comfirmation which includes "bonnet/nose". Unfortunately pdf is not allowed here.
Anyhow it was rebodied with Raw pieces when the engine swap was done.
