The fabricated oval-shaped exhaust tubing over the top of the LH rear wheel I attempted last year didn't really work that well (Mk's 3&4) Despite re-shaping it, the wheel/tyre hit the underside of the tubing plus the bodyshell & tyre got too hot.
Had another idea which I've just finished building (along with my exhaust fabricator)

The 3" sleeve just fits nicely in the corner behind my JK Composites seats...the 2-piece 2.25 tubing runs throught it and connects with the rear muffler which was my original one with the Toyota engine. Ditched the Varex muffler as I found I was always running it with the valve wide open & it's quite heavy

Today I've taken your concerns regarding the heat of my passengers backside into account

No doubt I'll hear about it if this dosn't work well enough!....plan B = more lagging

My original Fury had the silencer/exhaust in the standard side pod position. All my passengers complained of burnt feet, elbows etc. It's just part of the fun of riding in one of these vehicles!
