Run out last night... with video

Postby adithorp » Fri Jun 07, 2013 9:30 am

Had a run out last night to test my video and remote record/stop phone app. I also wanted to see what it looked like filming from low down on the front of the bonnet. I'm quite pleased with the results but I can't decide whether it makes it look faster or more realistic. What do you think?...

Does look pretty quick; and makes the overtakes look quite bold but then you've got a better view than the camera. Didn't know it was called the Isle of Skye road, learn something new every day.

Yeah, the first overtake looks almost blind but in reality I had 500m+ visability. The angle of the cars shadow moving as I corner also makes it look odd at times.

It's known as the Isle of Skye after the pub that used to be on the top. It was the second highest in England (Tan Hill Inn 1st and the Cat and Fiddle Inn 3rd) but was demolished many years ago (50s). The top bit used to be used for races by motor bikes before the war, safe in the knowledge that the police cars would overheat trying to go up there (according to my grandad).
