Sylva Striker mk2 - IVA Fail

Well finally managed to finish a 21yr old unfinished kit I bought 2 years ago.
13 fails in total, mostly minor but speedo was out also exhaust emissions. Emissions were 7, pass rate was 4.5. He tried to tweak the carbs at the time but it would stall so to the garage it goes as carbs are out of my league.
New speedo to fit, not sure where or how to mount the sensor - any help for a mk2 with escort donor parts would be helpful

The actual process was an eye-opener and was very interesting. Luckily the Carlisle tester was very helpful and seemed to enjoy doing the test.
Onwards and upwards

Speedo done, mounted the sensor in the back of the rear drum to pick up a nut passing by......
Things to do:
New chassis plate - Manufacturer needs to be at top of plate, chassis number underneath it.
Battery positive terminal needs a protective cover
New side mirrors - just 0.5m short of vision at rear
Side repeater needs mounted on front wheel wings
EMISSIONS !!!! This could be a pain !!!!!

Getting down below 4.5% CO shouldn't be difficult. It should be around 2% ish to run right. 7% is very rich.

Sounds like a manageable fail well done for sticking at it.
I hate carbs owing to my battles with trying to get through SVA with them (and now am a fan of EFI).
Doesn't it point to a failure of balance if he adjusted the idle and couldn't get it to work? Anyway, find a really old guy in a garage and I am sure you will be on the road in no time.

Weber 32/36's.....All sorted and back to the IVA Centre at Carlisle....All passed, Speedo needed some tweaking for revs/mile but everything else was bob on.
Dropped my paperwork off at the DVLA and got my appointment with the week (they're quick up here), unfortunately the guy I was loaning the trailer from forgot to turn up so it's re-arranged for next week.
I've put my screen on and re-mounted the side-mirrors on the window pillars rather than the side panel as they were vibrating a little too much.
Will post a pic up once it's all sorted and registered.
