HI Rob, I think the reason for this is that the Rotrex is like a belt driven turbo but in this case is always on boost. I had a look in my manual and hopefully have loaded this page correctly to show the dump valve.

Also Jeff in reading the manual it does say not to fit the oil cooler for the supercharger upside down as

"mounting the correct way allows air looms to escape, and the oil cooler to work correctly"

Please note i am no expert in this but just reading the manual to share opinions.

Hopefully we can improve the flow of air underneath the car and reduce lift...You will notice the oil cooler is the other way up now... :D

I did notice that ;) . next question is can we see what you have done with the filter in the side pod? just interested to see what you have done with it. on my car I have had to stick with the filter on the back of the charger as i did not have any room for pipework in the striker.

Basically there is a canister filter (carbon fibre !) in the sidepod facing the rear wheel. Then there is the silicon pipework you can see into a 3" hard tube and a bit of flexi hose into the canister. It was the best compromise for colder air. There is a take off on the hardtube for the recirc valve.

Jeff,

I guess you will be blocking that big hole in the top of the side pod too? In my car I have a similar gap and the air shoots through the radiator and down the sidepod.

Another option (which I did) was to make some holes at the front of the sidepod, and box in the air filter so it only gets air from the outside. I don't like this option as it means the air filter probably gets clogged more quickly being behind the front wheel. In my car I don't see myself doing that many miles between engine changes so it doesn't matter too much and there wasn't another practical option.

Looking good. You've done a good job fitting all that stuff into the engine bay.

Any plans for a more serious front splitter to balance that diffuser?

You are right that there will be a level of hot air from engine bay going down the sidepod and blocking off the top of the pod would be an option but we will see how it goes. The praise for fitting all of this in to the car should go to Barry & Steve at FSC, I'm more the artistic director than the engineer on this.

The larger front splitter is an issue. As you know I already have a splitter of sorts but to have a proper splitter would mean you couldn't open the bonnet without hitting the ground. The only solution I can think of would be some sort of rising hinge on the bonnet which would lift the splitter away from the ground as the bonnet opened. Maybe next year on that on (along with the sequential box)

The car is finished....except the base map and the the rolling road session. It is coming back to me on Monday and then it will need to go to ATSpeed to be mapped.
