We have been trouble shooting the car and prep for the IVA and have come across the Clutch pedal ration being - well utterly stupid in all honesty - found in the most part by the attempt to drive the car for the first time which resulted in a number of wheel spinning hops rather than a smooth transition. When I investigated the pedal ratio - fitted before we took on the project - and to the book as far as I can make out - the pedal pad near enough bears straight onto the M/C  Clearly our Duratec is not a usual install and the concentric is a bit different but does the m/c pivot position work on other cars or do people just live with the stupid action and not bother to fix it?

Have any others repositioned the M/C and fulcrum to give a more usual ratio of say 4.0:1#

Side repeater lights for IVA - ours are on the side of the car just behind the bonnet shut line - anyone had any issues with this failing the 5 degree rule - The spider has wider rear arches and the view to these lights calculates on paper to be a bit marginal

Can't say for sure with the clutch m/cylinder as mine's a cable... I did have to more the cable mounting up to increase the ratio though. can't see why you could't do it with the cylinder although it might take more doing.

My side repeaters are on the scuttle just behind the bonnet and passed SVA OK on the angles of visibility.

I have had a look through the photo gallery on the Fury Sportscars site and the clutch M/C positions are all over the place - None I might add where I would consider them to be in a position with a half decent ratio.

As you say - moving the M/C to achieve a better ratio is going to be a bit more work than a new clevis pin hole for a cable and living with a slightly less than idea cable angle. Its been a feature of this build though just when you think yo are getting somewhere something crops up that is far from a simple fix.

You could consider changing the M/C to one with a longer throw ie. narrow bore equals further pedal travel for same volume of oil -- that would be my move rather than redrilling the mounting for a longer pedal ;)

Well it's been a while.

The car went for its IVA on the 4th of November 2013

It failed on a few items some reasonable some IVA petty

First off the manufacturers chassis plate provided by Fury Sportscars didn't have any manufacturer on it
As we went with no screen at all the area behind the wheel is testable for the radius and the Sierra hazard switch failed on too tight a radius...
The seats we have fitted are the low back seats and the gap between the seat top and the headrest exceeded the maximum 50mm gap.
We set the car up with plenty of toe out to get a strong self centre - too much toe out as it happens as the tyres touched the chassis - doh!
It also had another drawback in that the extra movement meant a brake flexy touched the wheel rim.
The sender for the oil pressure gauge had exposed terminals.

The fuel pump was held onto a mounting plate with cable ties. **
The fuel lines had solder joiners in them. **

** Items carried out before we took on the build

Full tank of fuel and full IVA trim and it tipped the IVA scales at 530kg

Most of the IVA corrections were easy enough but the fuel lines had been run down the centre tunnel and there was no way to replace the joiners and then re-install. It was decided to run the pipe fixed the chassis inside the passenger side pod.

Nearly completed the rework and should have it re-booked for the retest in the next couple of weeks.

IVA 'minor fails' (hopefully) now resolved - re-test this Thursday.

Pre-IVA photo attached - can't wait until we get it registered, and can drop the bonnet height back down to where it should be !
