thanks for the offer, I'll just cut it down, it's easy to do. I didn't get anything done tonight, the local tree surgeon dropped me a ton of green sycamore off tonight and i've been outside for 3 hrs splitting that and stacking it in the snow, about the only time of year I don't break into a sweat splitting logs! It's about -2degc now!

I have got one if you change your mind (or anyone else wants it). Cost will be 1 bacon butty at Stoneleigh.

Just finished splitting a trailer load of sycamore. Great way warm up before starting work each frost morning. Trouble is, the girlfriend can burn it quicker than I can split it.

Adi, ok, thanks for the offer.

Right now I have a few things to address and not sure of the way forward. The car has the stock fibreglass shells in, there's no padding. I find the driving position is too laid back for me. My old Striker had an almost perfect driving position. So i need to bring the back rest up. Obviously they are fixed back position. I know that if you heat fibreglass it can be pursuaded to move.I was wondering if I could stick them in the oven [at work, big industrial thing] if I could say pretension the back so as it heats the back will become more upright. Other option s go to a custom trimmer and have some black leather liners made with more padding in the back to do effectively the same thing.

Also the car is mirror less. My old striker had vitaloni turbos' [ http://www.talbotco.com/vitaloni_pics/v ... urbo_2.JPG ] mounted to the side screens. any suggestions for mirrors?

Folks -seats!
I have the stock fibreglass shells. I took the drivers one out last night, it's bolted at the front edge to the floor and the top of the back rest is bolted through a piece of 2" x 1" to the rear panel. The seat appears to be 'suspended' above the floor at the back. Ie it's only really touching the car at the front edge and the top of the back rest, is this right? I deally I was thinking of putting a larger spacer behind the back rest to effectively push me forward a little. I was expecting to have the pack the bottom of the seat to the floor, however I didn't expect it already to have a gap under it. Should I fill the void with expanding foam, I was thinking about putting expanding foam in a plastic bag, so it provides a cushion, but doens't stick the seat to the floor.
How does everyone else do it?

Works has progressed nicely and lost fo littl jobs done, over the past month, will get some pics up.

Not posted updates for a year now. I've had a year of trouble free motoring out of the Striker. Done about 1000 miles in that time.
The car was features in the Complete Kit Car Magazine feature on Sylva's at Donnington a month or so back.
It now resides with a new owner in Scotland. Ian is no stranger to kit cars having had a Caterham and currently an all singing and dancing SBD XE Westfield is in his care for fettling. He plans to compete with the car in Sprints and Hills and I'm sure will appear on hear shortly
Good luck Ian, I'll look forward to seeing your comments and development of the car, in the meantime here's a few pics
