Re: Supercharged Phoenix is a go....
When for a drive to the Westerham Pub meet last night....by christ it is quick on a dual carriageway, I would guess it is sub 8secs to a ton and pulls very, very quickly past my fastest speed at Goodwood. Looks like the oil pressurisation issue is solved and the new 'Bluetop' pump and filter seems to alleviate the fuel issue.
But....the alternator has packed up and I ended up having to be recovered back from the A21 as the car died when the battery gave up. Had a lovely chat with a petrol-head AA man as we waited for the low loader.....
This is the 2nd alternator in less than 100 miles so there must be something systemic going on. I think the pulley size is too small and it is over reving the alternator (I reckon it is doing 18K rpm at the 7800 redline). Need to speak to the guys about another alternator and another pulley. I'm due to a Rally in France next weekend but I don't have a lot of confidence that the car will make it at the moment so I will probable just do the Sprint at Lydden with the trailer. Fitting the alternator will be a pig of a job as well.

I have an Edge alternator fitted on mine, they are rated to 18k, but then my engine revs to 8k3.
It is not a cheap option, a different pulley is much cheaper. I noticed that Clairetoo had been making some nice aluminium pullies the other day.

310BHP (270 at the wheels) and 240 ft lb on a 85mm pulley...
Still need to change the intercooler out for those missing PSI.

Re: Supercharged Phoenix is a go....
The engine was never apart. The issues where alternator, engine stopping when hot on idle and oil being pumped in the catch tank. Hopefully all of these issues have been resolved and I will go and get the car next week. There has been an element of redesign which is why it has taken this long.

It isn't terrible interesting to be honest, just reliability issues & changes.
