So the CR is 9.4:1 (which is spot on) but the head isn't flat (hence why it lifted). Head is away being skimmed and we will get it back together with ARP head studs and nuts.

Speaking to Richard at Omex he expects my car to run 330BHP (295 wheel HP) at 12-14PSI. A stock head would need 17-19PSI to make 330BHP. So he thinks that a pulley change will allow us to run 18psi on mine and it should make 365-370 (320 wheel HP) which is pretty much the max for the Rotrex 30-94.

Richard is mapping the RAW car this week as it will be interesting to see what that does numbers wise. Mine should be back together and on the rollers this week and we will see what it does.

I'm going to make the effort to get across to Llandow in May for the CKC/Omex trackday so we can see both SC Phoenixes out together....should be fun :)

Interesting stuff....The RAW car made pretty much the same power as mine has done, but on 12psi rather than 9psi that I had, last night on Omex's Dyno. The Zetec in the 'other' Phoenix has the stock head and a stage 1 cam. Omex are going to change the pulley on the RAW car and, when that is mapped, Richard at Omex will have the extra information needed to make the decision on pulley and belt for mine to get it upto 350-360BHP.

All this means that there doesn't appear to be an inherent issue with the belt and it means that mine doesn't have a big boost leak.

So it will be.....next week ! I seem to be saying that a lot recently.

Why did you think you had a boost leak.

Because it was only making 8.5 psi having been told it would be 15-16psi. Turns out the calculations may have worked in theory but we need a smaller pulley and a different belt. So the RAW car is being mapped this weekend and I'll know on Monday what pulley and belt are coming from Omex. We are going to go one step further than the RAW car so looking for the 350-360 mark rather than 330.

Richard at Omex reckons I will hit the redline of 7800 at Goodwood....that is 165MPH !!!!!!!!! He has had a 400BHP striker which was sub 8secs 0-100....

7800 is the same peak power as my car, will be interested to see what size pulley you end up with. I'm not sure what psi mine is running so will have to find out.
Its not just you waiting Jeff we are all interested in the out come great write up.

The funny thing is the RAW car has a Sadev sequential box in it which gives it a top speed of around 130mph. I think the boys at RAW will need to rethink that one....

I meant to ask you what box and diff ratio do you run, thats one hell of a top speed

Box is a BGH HD and the diff is 3.89:1

With a 7800 rev limit, 205/60 13 tyres it works out as

1st 50mph
2nd 76mph
3rd 105mph
4th 132mph
5th 157mph (not 165)

Change the diff ratio and you get

3.62:1 169mph
3.54:1 173mph
3.38:1 181mph
3.14:1 195mph (so that will be the one then lol   :D )

Obviously not all these are available as live axle ratios but it is interesting running through the calculations. The Sadev box with its 1:1 6th gear would need 3.38:1 or lower to make the box give sensible results (that would give 159 in 6th) although 3.14:1 gives 171mph in 6th which might be a better bet. I might need to change to 3.54:1 (I think that is a live axle ratio) so as not to hit the rev limit at Spa/Goodwood

Thats interesting as the Raw guys rave about their gearbox, I did not know it was only 1-1 in top. As you say you get a much broader selection with the live axle. I know from my escort days that the 3.54 is the standard rs 2000 diff ratio and works very well.
