fitted the new ignition switch, stuck an old battery on, which i thought was ok, but 4v whilst cranking was conclusive to starting, but there's some pictures.
So work and jobs to do.. . . . .
want to rid the car of the blue stripes
fit a fuel sender and gauge instead of the racetech ammeter
mount the fan properly [tho it is secure!]
have a new indicator lens already
awaiting front number plate
needs air filters for sure, trumpets would be nice
Not keen on the coolant system, pressure cap on the rad and the XR2 filler cap, but an unpressurised expansion tank. I guess it must work, we'll see
surely will need an electric pump and pressure regulator
need to bleed the brakes and change the oil, check the brakes, check box and diff levels, check the geometry
paint the hood bar
needs mirrors -any suggestions?
not convinced by the round holes in the nose cone, might cut them out and either leave open or fit some mesh
there's what appears expanding foam on the rear arch, should come off easily
suspension is 1 and 2 clicks off from hardest, might be interesting to drive
Need a battery, any budget suggestions
Alternator bracket is broken, i wonder if the pulley is running out. had this issue on a Mk1 XR2 many years ago. will make a new bracket I think
On my first Striker I shortened the trafficator arms and turned up some nice ones in ally, no i have a lathe may well have a go at doing the same. tho' my lathe is WW2 I think!
Need to bend the wiper arm to get it to sit horizontal when parked
would be nice to polish the wheels and then lacquer them
there's quite a few things there, for a 5 min look over!
Not going to be much action for a while, I mostly butchered my hand on the bandsaw late this afternoon and 11 stitches later I'm lucky to still have the use of all my fingers,
here's some pics
