Yup, that sounds like the Oxford office.

I bet that when you do take all the details in that they will take the most cursory glance at them and tell you that they didn't really need them.

Job finally done. A visit to Northampton last Thursday with the paperwork resulted in an inspection appointment on Monday. Their car park does not accommodate vehicles with trailers so I had to park on double yellows. The inspection lasted about two minutes while the VIN and engine number were checked. I asked what would happen when the DVLA office closed at the end of next year. Oh, he said, it will become part of the IVA examination, continuing that he could not understand why DVLA had to inspect them anyway as the IVA cert showed them both. Hey ho!

It poured with rain on the way back and the temporary tonneau I had taped on started to lift off on the M40 despite a self-imposed limit of 50 mph. I had to stop under a bridge on the hard shoulder to take it off completely. What a waste of a morning!

No wonder the kit car industry is suffering it cost £450 for IVA, £214 to insure and £275 to tax and cover a registration fee.

Second rant over now!

Expensive and poorly run, that fabulous new state-organised model.
There should be a rule, if you rip someone off, then at least do it efficiently.

p.s. The only good thing is that you don't need an MOT for 3 years

Is it 3 years before an MOT with a Q plate?

I believe so, and managed to get my car taxed under that basis.
