I posted the pictures on behalf of Lee Champion. I believe the screen and surround are from a Fury but you would need to check with Lee.

mazie wrote:Thanks for all your feedback guys, I've decided the sensible route of a full screen purely for the safety aspects of not having a stone travel through my head at 80mph. I dont want to wear a helmet unless for trackdays and most of the time its driven on the road including motorway journeys .
Steve at fishersports is about to start the repairs soon so it will be back on the road in a month, it's been a good opportunity to decide on a new colour scheme too! All I need now is a set of 285 cams for a silvertop if anyone's go any to sell!

I've got one 2lt cam ( fast road Dunnell ) but you'd need to phone him and buy the other to match it . He's likely to have one secondhand . Also have ecu / Dunnell for carb's which he will re - program free of charge to my buyer . When using this cam mine was on carb's producing 200bhp .

Yep, (cheers Jeff). Car is a Phoenix, windscreen is from a (crashed) Fury full-screen spyder, mocked up and fitted so that I could decide if I wanted to fit it permanently. A Phoenix with a screen (and hardtop??) would be one pretty car, but I decided against it personally. The Fury setup would work with a bit of fettling but the screen and surround is several inches wider than the Phoenix body and would not have looked clean enough for me. The phoenix really tapers in at the hips and makes donor screen choice difficult.

This thread got me thinking at the time about having the best of both worlds and having a swappable full screen/aero screen. Here's my initial result, still a long way to go with wipers being in the eventual plan. The screen bolts on to backing plates on sides and bulkhead. I was worried that I would reduce my car to scrap but it's definitely more secure feeling with 4mm of glass between me and the oncoming traffic, I think I've done the right thing!

I have a tall aeroscreen. I only wear a helmet on track. Just wear protective glasses on road. Not been an issue for the last seven years.

Jeremy had a removable full screen on the Vectis/J15 he displayed at Donington last year (or was it Newark?)

I bought the screen frame for my J15, it's just a separate fibreglass moulding that bolts / bonds to the body. It uses an S2 Lotus Élan screen, which I believe is the same as the Fury.

Like Rob, I have a tall aeroscreen, but mine also has some returns. I can wear a baseball cap at motorway speeds and even though I wear specs, my eyes don't water! The full screens do offer a lot more protection, but work so much better with some returns to get rid of some of the turbulence.

High aeroscreens are fine but become a problem if your eyeline is through rather than over.....Mist or Rain becomes a serious hazard.
