My Striker, VIN plate supplied and stamped by JP, is S97494, Sylva/1997/494th Kit.
I think, but don't know, that SS is Swindon Sportscars, but I know a man that will! If you can track down Niall Christopherson he'll tell you for definite!

Re: VIN number on Sylva Star
i only came across SS once whith an early striker (maybe the builder has used a sylva star v5c for making his striker road-legal?)
have now recognized that most cars built later (~ mid 90ies) use an S, whatever model it was (striker, phoenix, stylus)

Re: VIN number on Sylva Star
Edit:
yesterday i picked-up a mates car for doing some little adjusmtents, repairing some bits & pieces.
its a 1987 striker on a q-plate, fiat twincam engine (jeremy´s favoruite engine) with an interesting chassis-number
S87STxxxx
the chassis was prepared for the engine, as well as for a fiat radiator.
this in combination with the unusual chassis-number i came to the idea that this might be factory built?
any ideas?

Re: VIN number on Sylva Star
The VIN on my Sylva Star is S84002, which I guess makes it one of the earlier ones to be supplied?
