Obviously pays to be ' large ' according to Gerry's career results , in both body and power plant. He was asked to drive the latest (10 yrs ago latest !) touring car and give his oppinion . It was a Primira I think , poking out 450bhp . When asked after his track session what he thought of the car he said '' this is not a car , 600bhp is a car '' . He used to drink with a few racing friends in our local on a Friday and I remember him recalling this very day testing at Silverstone . I narrowly missed him coming to see my car and donate the odd ' tip ' , as he sadly died just 2 months after giving me his card , saying ring me and we'll go for a drink (what a surprise)
What was really funny was his remark to my suggestion he could take it out(the Stylus) and show me how to really drive it but thought he may not get in it

He was a huge guy

He said '' that may not be a bad thing ''

A great guy and very friendly too
