Hi Guys,
My tyres needed replacing quite a few years ago, def. need to replace now.
I want road tyres with the very occasional trackday and I don't have the skills to get anything out of trackday tyres, 888's 048's etc.
I had A509's when I built it and loved them, A539's seem rare now and am quite happy to have a normal road tyre that performs modrately well. They don't need to have any longevity to them as I'll never do enough miles to wear them out!
I notice JP has vredestiens on the Vectis.
What are Hankooks like?
I'm trying to shod all for wheels for less then 200 which is why i'm looking at hankooks.
Anyone get any positive experience of a mid range road tyre? Size is 185/60/13.

If it's a cash decision I'm not certain , as not used non grippy tyres on mine , apart from the A539's originally put on the car in 1999 . If you want a really good grippy in wet and dry conditions and can handle a trackday once or twice without too many laps ----------------- YOKO A021R's can't be beaten unless you spend big bucks on Avon CR500's which will do a similar job.

I've got Hankook Kinergy's on my J15 in 185/60 r14. They have good grip in the dry, and as you say, never wear out. The one thing I don't like about them is that running low pressures, there is a fair amount of sidewall flex, that I don't like to feel of. They are pretty good in the rain, but like a lot of tyres, they are a bit unpredictable in damp greasy conditions.

I love the Yokohama A048 tyre but you wouldn't want to be using these all year round in the cold and the wet. From the reports I've seen the Avon ZZR provides better wet weather and cold weather performance. When I've worn out the current A048's (typically around 2500 miles of road use / 12 months), I'm going to try the ZZRs.

Currently have 185/60/13's, how much difference would 185/70/13's make? Or would the bigger sidewall flex too much at lower pressres i.e. 16/18?
