sylva mojo

Postby 3cxjay » Sun Mar 31, 2013 8:30 pm

Ive been looking round the forum and on the net and the mojo has caught my eye. Is it basically an early version of the riot? Does anybody on here track/race them? i can't find one for sale so i was just wondering are they better value for money than the riot as they are older? can they be picked up for cheap? Any knowledge on this subject is much appreciated.

Hi, The Mojo was developed before the Riot, the Riot then inherited a lot of the Mojo chassis design with some updates. There have been various iterations of the Mojo, which I have documented on this page on my website:

http://www.mymojo.co.uk/history.htm

Bryan Hartshorne used a Mojo for hillclimbs & sprints for a while but I think he has 'retired' now. There have been a few Riots used for racing/hillclimbs etc, and there are now one or 2 J15s (again based on similar chassis and suspension design) cropping up at sprints etc.

I've used mine on trackdays, it is great fun... I'll be at Cadwell Park on April 13th if you are anywhere nearby...

I am a big Mojo fan, I built mine back in 2004 and have covered over 40k miles in it since then. They are a fairly rare breed, a few have come up for sale but there aren't many about. Alternatively they are still available to buy as a new kit via Typhoon Sports Cars.

If you have any other questions please ask away... or have a dig through the rest of my website which has plenty of info.

Cheers!

Neil

Here also a mojo fan from the Netherlands.

Before my Mojo I had a fury, also a nice car, but I love the handling from my Mojo more.

Now rebuilding it from a 1700 crossflow to a 2.0 blacktop zetec

Greetz from the Netherlands

Quite a coincidence that you live nearby! I'll drop you a message with my contact details should you need them...

Jeremy Philips may also be popping over to see me, so you might get to meet the creator of these great cars too ;)
