I've got a bit of a quandry, a good one fortunately. I've sold my Mojo and I am planning to start another build in the next few months. I've pretty much decided on a Sylva J15 (but a Phoenix is still a possibility) but I really am in two minds about the engine options. I feel like I need to scratch the BEC itch and was planning a Hayabusa build but the only thing that puts me off, on the J15 mid configuration, is the chain drive and reverse arrangements.
Does anyone have experience from perhaps a R1OT on how good this is, ie does the reverse work properly and is chain maintainance an issue?
There area few reasonable looking Quiafe and Radical products, some pretty expensive, has anyone got any experience or thoughts on those?
The other engine alternatives of Duratec or modified Sigma are still appealling if the drive issue gets the better of me but the bike engine does hold that unique high revving, light weight, precision engineered appeal.
I'm not trying to stir up a BEC versus CEC discussion, more a chain drive issues chat.
Thanks,
Keith.
