Hello,
Finally got round to joining the forum. I am building a Vectis and would like to know if anyone else on the site is doing so as well?
Thanks
Richard

Hello and welcome.
Is that the one that uses the MGF rear subframe?

Re: Vectis Build
The Original Vectis did use the MGF subframe, but mine is the development chassis that Jeremy built without the subframe so a fair bit lighter. It is the "inbetween" model between what the Vectis is now and what it was when it first came out.
Bought it directly from Jeremy in Scamblesby. My car has been a long time in the building - as they say "life gets in the way!" Doing the wiring now.

Hi Richard,
I have a J16 with the MGF re-subframe.
I was registered about 3 years ago.

Re: Vectis Build
Hiya,
I'm also building a Vectis! Just bought a part built one with a VVC engine. Unpacking all the boxes will begin soon!
Is yours the green one that Jeremy built with the modded induction?
Cheers,
Guy

Re: Vectis Build
Hi Guy,
I saw that one on eBay - that's a bargain!
No, mine is French Blue but if you are going to use the VVC engine then it wont fit under the rear clam unless you modify the inlet. I got Bogg Brothers to shorten mine. You only use the bottom have of the ali plenum and then invert it. But I still needed a small bulge for clearance of the VVC actuator.
You could try mounting the engine a bit lower, but it's already very low.

Hi Pat,
Good to know, there's a whole load of exhaust and induction research to be done imminently! Thanks for the advice!
