yes it has a low line sump so had to switch it over. will swap all the sensors and various bits over then ready to go. had a look at the oil and was told to put 5/50 in?? found the old oil that came out and it felt thicker :o looked at the book and it recommends 10/40 will have to look into this as well.

one of the engines has a close ratio gear set but he could not tell me which one at least i will get to find out :D

just found some of my notes and have written down I should be using 15/40 oil? do not think this is the issue as I only ran the car to temp with no load on it. hopefully will find something when i strip it down.(finger crossed)

You could always ask Mr Beezley  He will have no reason to waffle as the seller ' may ' do

I suggest you speak to Andy Bates at AB Performance if you want to know anything about BECs.

Jeff's famous quote "If i didn't have bad luck id have no luck" has passed over to me :(

feeling good about the new engine and have both on the bench ready to swap bits over. I have done the sump changed all of the engine cases over and remembered to tighten the pressure plate bolts on the clutch up. The flipping clutch basket has about 2mm of movement in it up and down!!! I am not sure if it just a carrier bearing in the main shaft or more serious?

I have the phone number of the engine builder who has built the engine (recommended to me by Jedi) so will give him a ring in the morning to ask what he was supposed to have done to this engine.

I'm not happy but hey what can you do will get it fixed one way or another

Little update for you, turns out i have one engine with a good top half and the other with a good bottom half. in true blue peter style i will magically make one good engine out of them both.
I am loaded up with gasket sealer and ready to go :D
