How did the day go for everyone?

Does anyone have any times, or a brief write up?

Had an, unexpectedly, sunny day today at North Weald. We where using a modified track which caused all sorts of issues and meant we ended up having 3 practise runs and 3 timed runs. Lots of people wrong route during practise and I was actually FTD after first practise :)

My runs where
Practise 1 87.4
Practise 2 87.8
Practise 3 87.5

So obviously I wasn't learning much! The opposition in my class where down into the 84/83 secs so I need to step it up a gear.

Timed 1 86.8

An improvement but still some way off. I dropped the front tyre pressures by 2PSi to 15 and the rears to 14PSI. Went up two clicks on the rear dampers after a chat with Rob and

Timed 2 85.1
Followed by

Timed 3 84.9secs

I ended up 3rd in class (of four) and 7th overall which doesn't sound very good but...

This is the first time I've not had an issue all year plus North Weald doesn't really suit live-axle cars because of the large number of bumps.

Simon in his Striker and Lee in his Phoenix where also out and about but I'll let them tell their storys :)

Video to follow.

You didn't stay long enough to know you were '' best Sevenoaks member '' Jeff :) Lee did well with his bec Phoenix getting 1st in class at 87 -- odd sec's then Simon was 1st in his class at 83 --- odd sec's . Good dry day plus pretty hot after lunch but as Jeff said , a very tricky coned out course to navigate twice on the final part but not through the same ' gates ' at the finish . Only 10 cars got it right in practice hence the 3rd practice allowed

I spent the first half hour helping to refit Lee's ARB after cutting a little off the drop links ---- it had touched the chassis and snapped a rodend so originally fitted a touch too long ;) Quite handy really as Simon virtually had to go right past my door on his way , so I took spares for Lee then he could run with the ARB connected.

N Weald's never been a favourite of mine , due to it's very bumpy surface in places which with my very stiff set-up has , over the years , broken chunks from the front wheel arch extensions

We spent a bit of time gaining some useful info on the two JEDI's running today too --- all free info gratefully recieved aye Simon :P

Thanks Jeff, will be a sad day to see my car go as I do really like it :( :( :( :( :( , but do need to have a go in a single seater.
its a shame as I always look forward to gauging how I have done against you and your videos :D quite shocking how bumpy your car is around north weald its definitely more suited to a smoother track.
