Just got the finals.
Six Westy entries (including the fastest one in the country), four Caterhams (including Mr. Bowden), and only one JPSC (though it is Jeff's Super-Phoenix, so that counts as at least two!).
My first event of the year -- can't wait.

Two fewer than the entry list indicates, Jeff. The Matt & Craig works SBD Westfield is non-road-legal on so many fronts that I assume they'll find themselves in another class . . . . .
. . . . . fairly fast, though

Re: Lydden -- 14th April
I did a 83.74 today on a very very dusty Lydden circuit. The car (apart from some issues) was awesome and it was doing some very long powerslides coming out of the big sweeper. 83.74 is the fastest I've every been round Lydden but was only good enough for 5th place ! The class winner was down to 80sec mark with 3 others close behind. I was only 2 secs behind Paul Bowden and only 1.5 behind a certain Mr Hussey.
I'm going to over a set of A24 compound ZZRs next week which should close the gap even further.

No -- I'm sure you won't like ZZRs, Jeff. I should save your money
Seriously, to go round Lydden in those conditions faster than ever before was a major achievement. Nobody much else managed that!

Re: Lydden -- 14th April
Well Duncan did a 74 sec in that mad Turbo Busa thing and FTD was a 72...so still some quick times
Looking at the results from the same meeting last year Paul did a 79.79 (2012 - 82.5) and I did 85.64 (2012 - 83.74) so the track was approx 3 secs slower this year and I went 2 secs faster. Net gain of 5 secs Wonder if the ZZRs will close a little more of the gap

Re: Lydden -- 14th April
Certainly was slower, Jeff. The big SBD Westy was doing 74s this year, against previous best of 72s, and the two guys in your class (Barry and Pete) failed to break the 80s barrier against a target time of 77s. At the equivalent meeting last year, I managed a run of 83s dead, but that was my first ever visit to Lydden, my first outing ever in the car, and I had a dreadful fuel starvation misfire through Devil's Elbow. Compared to that, my improvement this time of 0.6s was pathetic.
Given the progress you've made, you're going to be difficult competition indeed (not just for me, but also for Paul) once you get the ZZRs on.

Jeff,
You need to work much harder on your racing driver excuses.

Twin exhaust outlets in front of the front wheels would blow the dust away.
