Just had an email from the ACSMC Champ'p co-ordinator confirming I am the class champ in sports libre :P In a less depressed economy , others would have done 8 to 15 events as in 2008 and previous years, so I've been lucky to win on so few events since retiring in 2008.
Still, nice to win all the same and this year the awards ceremony is at Brooklands as it used to be a good few years back ---- a browse around the museum before going in will be nice .

Can't believe there was no worthwhile competition, Rob -- so forget the modesty and enjoy :D

Well done!

Then I'll have to lose some weight or grow bigger sphericals ---- supercharged and motivated will frighten ALL the horses in Sports Libre :o

It was the ACSMC Speed Championship , sponsored by Hamilton Classics Ltd . Guildford Tyres used to be the sponsor. They do Rally , Trials , Speed and Hillclimb within their group . If you look in your BLUE book you'll see their listing shows around 100 motorclubs . For me it was the obvious Championship to join , located where I am plus the fact that many members of the clubs were either MSA officials , Champ'p co- ordinators , clerks , marshals etc . DP was involved in the Sylva club before it became the JPSC , and edited the posted magazine.
Originally I joined the BARC SW then later the FDMC too , both listed under the ACSMC .
If yours is taxed , insured etc then Roadgoing under or over 1700 is the way to go( two classes) . If not taxed etc then modified limited specialist production would be the class(limited capacity for level playing field) . If you fancy running against all comers and allowed slicks , turbo or supercharger , basically any capacity anything goes THEN it's sports libre , same as me . In this you get a chance to measure your ' kit ' against some very exotic beasts which can ne a lot of fun if they don't blow you away
That would be great to have another Sylva iny class --- until you beat me that is
