Debden Sprint 2nd October

Coming to the end of the season for my championships (one more left after this one) and a big entry for the HCAAC Debden Sprint. In the 1700cc and over Kit Car Class there is 12 entries included the return of Paul Bowden in his R400, a R500, GTD40 and Nigel in his Sylva Striker with the aero body. Elsewhere there is a Leader, the Hussey's Striker and Gerry Fincham in his very rapid Caterham It is also a round of the Ginetta Sprint Championship which means there are two G12s (I would love a G12) on the entry. Should be a great day :)

Stephen Laing has just bought himself an R500 . Previously had a much modified Exige , an old sparing partner of mine in 2001/2005 . Good luck Jeff , I assume you're targetting Mr B :?: --- he hasn't come up against you for a while and you've moved on :o

Yeap....we will see what happens. Stephen is pretty quick in the R500 and Paul has been out for a while. Looks like a good fight for the podium positions.

3rd in class with a 67.99

Gave David a bit of a scary which lead to him getting his arse in gear for the last run in the Busa Striker and recorded a run of 66 secs. The terror of being beaten by me drove him to new heights ;)

Paul Bowden won my class with a 63.x and Stephen Laing came 2nd with a 67.63 in his R500 Caterham.

Well if Stephen only pipped you by 0.36sec using his new found steed then you did damn well . How much closer were you to Paul on this occasion ---- any gains :?:
Do you think the new layout is quicker or slower than the original layout :?: Andy Silman was getting into the 62's from memory in 2004/5 seasons with 215bhp/550kgs and me in his wake with 66's plus with 193bhp/ 630kgs :oops:

Certainly true, Jeff -- I felt that, had you beaten me, it might just have been mentioned on this forum :o
Don't know why you should feel good about beating a teensy 1400cc Striker with your magnificent two litre Phoenix ;)

@Rob: I believe that the course is the same in principle -- but I'm not sure that the cones, barrels and chicanes have ever been in exactly the same place twice. Yesterday's course featured an awful lot of cones in places I'd not seen them before, especially from the start, and between the chicane and the the kart track section.

JPSCs were pleasingly well represented, with Ian and Tom Hewitt in their neat Leader, Nigel Fleming in his 1800cc Striker Clubman (now with working electrics!), Jeff in the Phoenix, and Chris and me in the orange Striker. Will post results when available.

I meant that Paul would probable not be 'race' sharp as he hasn't done one for some time. Which proved wrong as he was straight on it lol

Ahhh....didn't realise that there was a engine upgrade in the car :)

Explains why I'm still 4 secs back of him. So he is running a R500 spec engine now?
