Went to the Javelin Track-day in "sprint format" at RAF Woodbridge today. Very good course (albeit "airfield with cones") of about 1.5 miles. Individual timed runs of one lap. Never more than three cars in the queue. I must have done 15 - 20 runs during the day, and some did almost twice that -- for £69. Great practice for "real" sprinting.
Bikers were doing a standing quarter mile on a different runway. We were allowed to have a go on their course, but they weren't allowed on ours. Sounds a bit "bikist" to me. Mr. Consistent here managed a run of 12.36 seconds with a terminal speed of 112.4 mph, and a run of 12.36 seconds with a terminal speed of 112.8 mph.
Worth looking at for those seeking a bit of sprinting experience without the hassle and cost of going MSA immediately.

That is interesting David. Shame it isn't done on one of the course I use for the championship....bit of practise wouldn't go amiss.
