Testing the rebuild

I'm booked in at Goodwood for a half day session on the 5th April pm. Obviously hoping the engine rebuild using the secondhand head was the wise choice :? I've also made a new stiffer ARB for the front end so need to see if the theoretical adjustments to set-up are correct or need tweeking . Their test day prices have gone upfor 2011 . Half day sessions used to be £125 and they're now £130 . Lord March obviously doesn't recognise the ressession OR needs to change the Bentley :mrgreen:

Hi Rob. I am interested in fitting a AntiRoll Bar to my Striker... any chance of a few pictures..

Ian,

A few pictures of mine in my square tube Phoenix. Robs design was for Stylus originally and in that install you need to drill one hole each side. In my Phoenix I needed to drill a pair of holes each side through the lower chassis tubes. Some of the chassis have different tubes in this area.

Anyway here is the link for some photos:

Hello Ian , send me a pic '' looking directly down into your front engine bay- between inboard rockers and front engine/pullley/oil filter '' . Also measure the centre to centre lower shock mount bolts ok . Phoenix are fine withouty bottom brackets but Fury's need a different arrangement due to the bolt centre spacing . Possibly the Striker will be similar -- either way it can be done ;). Email me landscaping@robertfarley.demon.co.uk. then we can exchange info and swap mob numbers.

Goodwood test was messy , wet with dry patches but even the dry was slippy . Anyway the engine had no issues . Camber a little too much according to tyre temperature differentials . I may leave it and hope my first sprint will be hot so will hopefully be going quicker and need more. She's a touch down on power around 4000/5000 in 4th but keeps pulling at the top end later than before . Rev-cut should have cut at 7800rpm but nothing happened and she pulled really hard up to 8000rpm and was still going in 5th but Woodcote was appearing fast so eased back . Lap times were slow at 106.6 sec's but conditions kept me sane !! The most fun once Matt had checked out the temp and pressures , riding shotgun was being on the track in the same session as the Stars & Stripes Manta 6.2lt on 14inch wets . Got a bit squiggly trying to stay with him but the Manta never moved through the corners , stayed solidly planted . We followed him round for 5 laps staying with him about 150 to 300 yds back . The door had all previous drivers written on it including Gerry Marshall . I remember seeing this car win by several laps years ago not just seconds ---- awesome car and a really nice guy to chat with . He'll be at Mallory in August apparently with Babybertha and other big grunty beasts .

Managed to come away from Goodwood yesterday (BOGNOR REGIS SPRINT) with some dignity in tact but my opposition is catching fast , in fact was 1sec in front before my final run . Fortunate because at Goodwood they line up 5 on the grid then let you off once the previous guy has reached Madgewick , meaning that I could see him when I was let go ------------- this seemed to find some '' b------lls '' which gave me the win at 96 sec's , 3 sec's in front of him . Way off my best ever but that's probably not going to happen again .(91.8sec's 4 yrs ago) The Escort space frame was sporting more bhp since the winter at 284bhp , 625 kgs and wide slicks . Next time there will be June and I'm sure he'll want retribution :shock: :shock:
