Postby Strikerxe » Tue Sep 15, 2009 7:53 pm

Any chance of a Calender of events in which members are competing in ? Its probabaly the wrong time of the year now but it would be nice to go and spectate at any localish events where members are competing . Seems like there's quite a few members competing in various championships around the country .

Ties in with my post yesterday: http://www.jpsc-online.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=83#p830

A google calendar that we could all add events to might work?

I could send someone the 2010 calendar for the ACSMC speed championships or try to put it here myself once it's agreed as fixed. This time of year the co-ordinator is very busy sorting 2009 results so 2010 isn't finalised yet.
I don't enter all rounds now (usually about 30 events to do 12 or 15 in my case with best 8 to count), after 7 years of every other weekend plus the occasional double header 120 miles apart. After repairing the Stylus from my 2008 end of season shunt and managing to win both championships before it , June 2009 at Goodwood was my first event which I won then another Goodwood event in the wet in August which was my first ever ' wet win ' . Cars were coming off in all classes , with running water everywhere so was lucky to keep it on the tarmac .
Last Thursday was my last track time in 2009 . I entered a charity trackday by GIGAWAVE in aid of combatstress at Snetterton. First time ever at that track for me so spent some time on the so called ' grass ' around the bomb hole and coram  Once I'd stopped trying too hard I got it nailed then had a great time . Passed everything in front of me but could only keep pace with a Noble . Up his ar ----e on all corners but half way up each straight he opened up a 200 yard gap ----- very impressive 8-)
Photos at www.edpphoto.com of the day. My Stylus has no headlights only lens covers also no number plates . Matt Downes was there too but his has lights and no windscreen ;)

There was also a wide bodied Striker there but I didn't get to speak with him ----- anyone from here or who might know of this car :?:

The last thing I'll do in motorsport this year will be the TEMPEST RALLY as a marshal .

For those possibly interested in trying motorsport via the Royal Air Force MSA (associate membership is possible for civvies), the following has appeared on their forum regarding the 2010 Speed Challenge (their sprint series):

These dates are provisional, but they hopefully will not change:
APRIL 25 (Sunday) - Rounds 1 & 2.
JUNE 12/13 - Saturday: Rounds 3,4 & 5. Sunday: Rounds 6 & 7.
JULY 3/4 - Saturday: Track Day. Sunday: Rounds 8 & 9.
SEPTEMBER 4/5 - Saturday: Track Day. Sunday: Rounds 10 & 11.
OCTOBER 2/3 - Saturday: Track Day. Sunday: Rounds 12 & 13.
NOVEMBER 6 (Saturday) - Flame & Thunder.
The June event will probably be the "Summer Festival", with three different clockwise configurations being run on the Saturday and two anti-clockwise configurations on the Sunday. Hog-roast or similar plus camping on the Saturday night.

I hope you will see at least StrikerXE, Chris and me at some of these events.

The provisional programme for the 2010 WSCC Speed Series can be found at http://www.wscc.co.uk/sport/index.php
Probably the best selection of venues of any championship.

Any WSCC member (£25 p.a.) can enter the Speed Series -- and you can drive any car. You'll automatically get invitations to enter all the events, and nobody minds if you do only one or two.

WSCC are a really friendly bunch -- except that they are afraid of letting Westies go head to head for championship honours with the likes of JPSCs (so we really will are in a class of our own!).
