Re: Hillclimb & Sprinting
OK -- said I'd come back on Hethel when the full results were out . . . . .
The unofficial "Striker Class" was won by much the heaviest bloke -- driving the car with quite the smallest engine -- Chris came in with a best of 82.72s.
Second was Simon, with a time of 84.33s.
Mike Smith was not far behind on 84.96s.
Nigel improved consistently throughout the day to record a best of 89.18s.
Tussling with Mike all day for second-in-class, I managed a final run of 84.69s.
Great fun was had by all, but to put those times in context: John Loudon (same class as Mike and I) produced a storming run of 82.34s for the class win, Nigel's class was won by Peter Goulding with a best of 81.04s, and Duncan Cowper's Dax Rush lived up to its name with a 76.08s.
The boys of the JPSC Academy were not top of the class

Well good on yer David --- my excuse is very simple --- brands at £170 a pop and all to be done and dusted by 12-00am is not on for me , it was bad enough at £150 when I last entered Budget won't stretch

Rob
I agree the £170 is pretty stretching -- but there's no circuit apart from Spa-Francorchamps I'd rather drive. Has to be done occasionally. However, at least for me it doesn't involve an hotel; that, and the travel cost actually make (for instance) Aintree a more expensive event for me.
Don't agree about the "done by 12:30" though. One (long) practice and three runs adds up to about 420 seconds on track for me. There are not many full day sprints where you get that -- as a comparison: Curborough single lap, perhaps 160s; MIRA, maybe 210s; Aintree, 300s; Goodwood, 390s. And what a track Brands is . It is an issue, though, if you have a problem during the day -- just about time to refuel and take a comfort break between runs means that solving car problems can be tough.
All best
David

Yes , take your point David re track time . It's really the rushing about having the day compressed into the half day that I don't like then the entry fee just makes my decision for me

I have to agree with Rob, its a long way for me to go and the entry fee does put me off I have never driven it but have been to spa, if its as good as this then maybe i could strech to it
