Snetterton

Big sprint meeting tomorrow and Sunday :)

Small classes for the JPSCs though. Jeff has to deal with a Marcos GT, and I with a Caterham :(

But, at least the Marcos is orange (so it must be fast!).

Two Sylva in different classes, 2 class wins !

I'm also pleased to say I scrapped in front of Mr Hussey at the death as well :)

How did your times compare to previous Jeff? Were the new ROP rules being applied?

Jeff was learning his new car -- and having some "issues" with his Geartronics set-up. However, he still beat me on both days (twice as many horses and stickier tyres may have played a role here -- I certainly can't admit he's a better driver!! :? ).
Both of us won our classes on both days ;)

The times today where somewhat faster (down to a 97.18) with loads more to come.

Watching the video I can see at least a couple of secs and that is without dialing the car in.

Thanks for the photo Tony.

Unfortunately, as I mentioned at the top of this thread, both Jeff and I were in very small classes at Snetterton -- and we both won them by well over ten seconds due to car disparities. That sort of margin reduces the fun-quotient of in-class competition to nil, so we need to look elsewhere for a competitive edge -- but you always find someone.
Luckily for me, a gentleman (epithet not applied lightly) named Stephen Laing runs a Caterham R500 in the next class up, and, at Snetterton, we are very evenly matched. I had managed to beat him by a few tenths on Saturday, but on Sunday it was much tighter. I had to leave after two timed runs, at which stage I had him beaten with a time of 98.52s to his paltry 98.53. However, in his third run he improved to a spectacular 98.50s, leaving me trailing in his dust!
That is worthwhile competition.
