Right, who is doing what this year

Postby jeffw » Fri Jan 08, 2016 11:33 pm

As my Phoenix is off shortly for it's new ROPS/Front Splitter/ARB/lightweight flywheel & clutch/pedal box & hydraulic clutch/Geatronics Paddleshift etc etc I wondered what we where all doing this year.

I can't decide if I'm running in Mod Specialist Prod with A24 ZZRs and then slicks or A8 on ZZS or R888R

I assume Simon is out in his OMS (unless he has sold it). David in Roadgoing (?) and Mr Farley in his Stylus/Alfa. Anyone else out playing in the world of Motorsport?

Jeff, if I read the Rockingham regs correctly kits have been bumped from mod spec prod to sports libre! Wonder if all clubs will follow this?

I'll have a look Nigel.

Actually, where did you get the Regs from as I can't see them anywhere?

Thanks Nigel, Noreen sent me an email as well.

The regs look normal. I'll be entering under Class 10 I think as this allows me to run A24 ZZRs and/or slicks without having to play with the Radicals in SL.

No definitive plans for me and the Fury this year. I don't compete in a series or Championship as I cant be bothered trying to conform to the regulations that are usually put in place.

Myself and a few racing mates usually get hold of the race calendars put in place by the organising clubs (MSV-R,CSCC,750mc etc) and pick the best value or the Circuit we most want to do. MSV-R are very good at offering good value for money racing at the moment.

I see most of the Guys on here are Sprinters/Hill climbers. We went over to Saint Goueno last year it really was amazing there is not really a lot in the UK that can compare unfortunately time constraints mean I cant do it again this year.

Jeff I think you will find that kits are not allowed in class 10. Last years regs specifically said no kits, this years regs don't seem to be worded as clearly but it does have under the sports libre heading the reference to 'Kits', perhaps worth a ring to clarify. Might help the zzs v zzr decision.

Competing in the WAMC championship again - hoping to improve on last year by getting past the second round in one piece this time :D

First doable date for me is Llandow on the 7th of May so need to get a move on

As this the current state of play I've not looked too deeply into the how the tyre regs will pan out here, suffice to say that I have a pair of new soft rear ZZR's, a full set of "as new" Caterham spec "medium" ZZR's, and a set of part worn CR500's, so should be able to get out on something passably "legal".

Best of luck to all JPSC competitors out there this year ;)
