You would think so due to equivalance, I asked the MSA this exact question and their response was
Dear Jeff,
As a sports car below 2000cc actual capacity, the minimum requirement for your vehicle is detailed in K1.6.1(a). K1.6.2 does not apply to your vehicle as it does not comply with the definition of a Sports Racing Car (see Section B: Nomenclature and definitions).
Forward facing stays would only be permitted for a vehicle in this category if the ROPS is certified by the manufacturer. If this is to be considered the manufacturer should contact the Technical Department for advice on the certification procedure.
Can I ask for more details on why you would not be able to fit conventional back stay to the ROPS, as we may be able to advise on possible solutions.
