Even our local FDMC scrute couldn't give me a definite yes or no Jeff. I already have a roll hoop that's about 4 inches above my helmet but the backstays are fitted too low down the hoop tubes . The body on a Stylus is in the way so large holes would be needed ------ I wouldn't make any changes unless totally certain it will pass. If fitting mean't cutting the body to do it then there'd be fibreglass repairs and respray £££££££££££
I've had no reply from Mr Duncan
The Phoenix has a similar problem related to the forward-facing stays for the roll bar, in that they are not strong enough due to the acute angle between them and the roll bar. Found this out when an engineer friend of mine did a structural analysis of the ROP. I made a lateral brace from chrom-moly tube which bolts in place from the top/centre of the roll hoop and runs forward into the base of the passenger footwell & bolts to the bottom of the bulkhead panel. Simply bolts in in place when required for sprints etc
Downunder, I have an AASA licience instead of CAMS. With them, the onus is on the competitor to provide suitable roll-over protection for grass-roots motorsport such as sprinting
Don't know if you guys are able to do something similar as a solution for lateral bracing?
