Slight disadvantage -- Marmelade was designed specifically to be very competitive in the <1700cc class. But, I am sure the car is much more capable than the drivers, so we'd just have to get better!

Certainly worth considering although I suspect I will do what the MSA require.

Now spoken to Jeremy at Raw. No ROPS Raw has ever manufactured (e.g. mine) has ever been accredited, certified, homologated or approved.

Dear David,
In accordance with regulation K1.4.1 Tube dimensions of 38mm diameter are
only permitted for use on ROPS approved prior to 1995.
For that diameter of tubing to be used on a 2004 vehicle the ROPS would
need to have been certified by the manufacturer. If this is to be
considered the manufacturer should contact the Technical Department for
advice on the certification procedure.
For your 1600cc sports car the minimum required ROPS is per K1.6.1 to
drawing K1 or K2. Only these mandatory elements of the ROPS are required to
be of 45mm or 50mm diameter, the other non mandatory members can remain as
38mm.

I got a response as well. Apparently there is no equivalence due to the supercharger so I only need K1 or K2
"As a sports car below 2000cc actual capacity, the minimum requirement for your vehicle is detailed in K1.6.1(a). K1.6.2 does not apply to your vehicle as it does not comply with the definition of a Sports Racing Car (see Section B: Nomenclature and definitions).
Forward facing stays would only be permitted for a vehicle in this category if the ROPS is certified by the manufacturer. If this is to be considered the manufacturer should contact the Technical Department for advice on the certification procedure."
