Brighton Speed Trails - 5th September

Postby jeffw » Thu Sep 03, 2015 4:37 pm

Off to the Speed Trials on Saturday. Going to see if I can get under my 11.81/130MPH 1/4 mile from last year. Going to try and get in the top 6 shoot out :D

If you are around drop by, I'm number 97

11.46 @ 131MPH....twice !

Finished up 10th overall (beating Ian Catt, Simon  ) I was 0.3 secs off a top 6 run-off slot. Great times. I was actually beaten by another Phoenix, David Edmunds Cossie engined MkIV clubman which was running slicks and 550BHP at the wheels, and lost by 0.02 of a sec.

Great day out :)

Results are here

10th overall, missed out on a top 6 run-off by 0.2 of a second. Looking down the list I would have been 17th fastest bike ! I beat some very quick cars and the terminal of 131.5MPH is significantly quicker than any of the other kit cars (except David Edmunds who put in one run that was 0.02 faster than me).

Great day, it was interesting to see Matt Carter out in his supercharged Busa engined Force for the first time ever. He did a 10.46 in timed runs but broke the car and couldn't compete in the top 6 shoot out. The Allard J2X won again, car and driver having competed at BST for the last 50 years ! Mr & Mrs SBD did very well as did the GD T70.

My 0-64 feet times are not great so need to work in my launches. Next year I should be back with paddleshift which may help. I did two identical runs of 11.46 at 131.5MPH so at least I'm consistent. David Edmunds runs his car at Santa Pod and normally gets low 10 secs on a drag strip.
