I'm ignoring Simon.

The diffuser that was recently fitted is actually being hit by the Panhard rod mount on the axle (there are witness marks and a bulge). So every right hand corner the diffuser is restricting the axle movement and unloading the wheels. Diffuser is off the car now...!

Ah! I've looked at how to fit a diffuser on a live axle before and couldn't work out a way to stop it hitting.

Well this is my third attempt and last....so without make a large hole for the axle I don't think it is practicable.

Indeed yes....although it is only really the Panhard rod.
