Going up should be a doddle clutchless -- just the tiniest lift. Until you fit electronic assistance, a dab of clutch on down-changes is definitely no sin. It also eliminates the tendency for rear wheels to loose traction (lock) with over-enthusiastic clutchless down-changes (new radiator and nose cone necessitated by changing down one too many as I turned left and braked into the Wiggler -- rear wheels locked, allowing the rear of the car to break to the right just as I needed to begin turning right :o ).

It is convincing the left foot it is OK not to press the clutch going up in 70 secs...brain says it is OK not to, foot thinks otherwise!
