Crystal Palace 25th May / Goodwood 26th May
Fun day in the sunshine (eventually). Won my class for a change (38.09 sec) so all good. Goodwood tomorrow.

Re: Crystal Palace 25th May
With the extra power, how much faster than last year is that?

Actually it was 38.07 secs. Exactly the same as last year (38.03) but this time there was an oil slick on the final corner (courtesy of Lee Champion's expired Mini) and a squirrel that ran towards the car and then stop at the edge of the track...very odd, thought I was going to hit him.
CP is a weird place and not an ideal surface for more power.

Had a great day on Sunday (won my class). Sadly Lee had issues with his Mini which caused him to withdraw.
a great shot by Adrian Barnard of me waiting to move upto the start line.

Re: Crystal Palace 25th May
Goodwood yesterday was absolutely lethal and a few cars were damaged , an ambulance called for one St Mary's shunt into the tyre wall but the driver was found to be ok . FTD told the story at 104 sec's by Malcolm who would nomally do 78/79 sec's at Goodwood . I practiced , if you can call it that , at 135 sec's just cruising round to take a look , running water across the track in all corners apart from St Mary's entry and Lavant also some along the straights , giving me a huge wake up call between Fordwater and No-name --- didn't move hands nor right foot and it righted itself - phew .
First timed run wasn't dry but at least 60 cars had cruised around twice so I assumed it would be slightly better and at Madgewich I was right , no running water on entry nor exit . I approached at around 100mph in 4th slightly fettled getting through first and second apex's thinking this is surprisingly ok -- then I grabbed 5th --- I spun immediately , correction doing now't and ended up continuing to spin into the infield grassland for a hundred yards or so ---- no marshal orders so looked for the following car but could see nothing so went off again but with not quite so much abandon (puposely emitted ' gay ') ---- that lap actually came in 0.5sec quicker than the car following me despite the ' off ' at 138 sec's
Road cars on ordinary road tyres did well by comparison with us specialised guys having light cars with power and sticky tyres -- John Smith did 128 sec's best in his 120bhp Elise and road Toyos (not R888)
A horrible day

Very nice pics you look like you are sitting more reclined than your old seats, or is that just my poor memory?
