Apparently it isn't.

You might want to re-read that...

Well the box has been in the car for over 18 months with over 330BHP so .....

But I'm not a transmission engineer so can't comment.

Sorry was a poor attempt at humor (OK piss taking) in that it has now fallen definitively on one side of the margin.

Now those are flames!

Piss taking aside; What are your alternatives with the 'box? Given it's only survive a few weeks with the current level of power, is a rebuild an option long term?

couldn't you go T5?

The look about the same size ish.
And it should take the power. Is the chassis wide enough?

There are a number of alternatives

Quaife 56/57G - H pattern boxes which take 375BHP - £4000 +VAT
Quaife 60G - 6 speed Seq....£6K +VAT
Elite IL300 Evo 500BHP - £6K +VAT

and so on.

The BGH E8 is going to be rebuilt with some mods which should allow it to hang on. The box has been in the car for 18months and this was a hot day so there maybe scope to do something about cooling. When the BGH guys open it up tomorrow we should know more on what failed and what needs beefing up.

Long term I'm looking to get a Sequential box but they are a large chunk of cash in one hit.

One thing I didn't mention is that a MEV Trike rolled going into the bus stop. Driver was OK and the car was a little the worse for wear...

Ouch! Sounds like that custom inter-cooler was more expensive than you thought.

Of course you could just turn down the boost... Nah, never going to happen

Any gearbox in that car is going to need rebuilding/servicing every 12 months or so.
