Is anyone here racing in the 750MC Sport Specials or RGB in 2014?
Assuming all goes to plan, I will be entering Class C of Sport Specials in my Fury. Should be fun!

Is this your original Fury (was green?) --- what's in there now and what are the reg's for sports specials --- not heard of that class before.

Hello Rob, the car was always black and is still running the XE...it is dry sumped with QED cams, 4 into 1 exhaust, pair of 45 DCOEs, & a Caterham 6 speed gearbox.
Alleged to have 240bhp, but that was a long time ago!! We will see what power it makes when I get power to weight ratio certified for Sport Specials. I think the LSD is still a 4.11:1 so I may be a bit down on top speed!

Yes , found it on 750 site now but was surprised to see there's only a 2lt allowed if DURATEC and max 1.8lt if ZETEC . I knew the original class structure was 1.8lt with restricted inlet/power but now it appears to be anything goes , so strange there's no 2lt allowed in a ZETEC.

Class C allows anything so long as Power to Weight is under 340bhp/ton. Perhaps that is how they accommodate larger Zetecs

I did look long and hard at this....sadly I have over 580BHP per tonne so didn't fit in any class. The Eclipse SM1 is the car to beat if I remember correctly.

The 340bhp/ton is including the driver, and with my 100kgs on board I just about get under the limit! Unless you are a gentleman of exceedingly generous proportions I fear that you will still be way over the limit @ 580!!! I had the same problem when I built my Fury back in 1996, in those days the regs were even more boring and so I went drag racing where there are no rules or limits.

My other race car, Veeteor LSR (spaceframe / modified Chevy LS / 8 speed) is way over the power to weight limit too and it is against my principles to make a car slower in order to race it. Hence wheeling out the Fury...

BTW Jeff, I had a most enjoyable read through the 22 pages on your wide body Phoenix build this afternoon, what a lovely motor. You ever timed it or run it up the quarter? I might have to get some of those wheel arches you have, they look rather good.

Never run it up the 1/4 mile. I do have data that shows 0-100 in 7 Secs in a Sprint start.
