Castle Coombe 19th Oct

Postby jeffw » Mon Oct 14, 2013 1:27 pm

Looking forward to the Sprint this weekend at Castle Coombe. This should play to the Phoenix's strengths (like Goodwood) so I'm looking forward to it. Never Sprinted there before although I've done a few trackdays. I have a Noble M300 in my class and a few Nissan GT-Rs elsewhere but no single seaters or quick sportscars (at least in the entry I have) so I hope to be towards the sharp end of the the field.

There are a large number of Sylva/RAW/Fisher cars in attendance so should be interesting.

No single seaters allowed apparently , very strange for a circuit like Coombe :? Disappointed not to be going myself  Good luck for Saturday :P

How do you compare to the GT-Rs at Goodwood as you should beat them so looking good for an FTD ;)

The two guys with heavily tuned GT-Rs at Goodwood where about 2-3 secs up the road from me. I think I can get most if not all of that back next year as I can use full throttle now. The ones to watch Saturday are the Noble M12 GTO in my class and the GT-R. They have changed the course slightly, we are starting from the pit exit in a group of 4 and then returning into the same pit exit after one lap.

Should fun if the rain holds off !

That was hard work. First practise 115 with eyes out on stalks, 2nd practise slightly dryer 99sec....first timed 82.3 secs with lots more to go and it then bucketted down so I put the car back on the trailer. 6th overall and 2nd in class so not bad.
