Off to the double header at Blyton Park this evening.

JPSCs represented by Richard Abraham and Emma Bennison (whom I know to be appallingly faster than my 1600 Westie) in 1600 Strikers, Nick and Alan Mugglestone (2 litre Fulcrum), Chris Boyd and Malcolm MacKay (1340cc Riot), and Chris in my 1400 Striker.

I'm sure honour will be upheld against a whole mess of Westfields.

So whatever made you swap out the Striker for this Westy you've got now David :?:

My main championship is the WSCC Speed Series, Rob. Nice gang of people; some seriously talented -- very high standard of sprinting.
You used to be able to go in the WSCC SS in any kit-car on equal terms, but that ended when Guy (my other son) won the championship in 2005 in my Striker :( .
Still love driving the Striker in non-SS and non-B19 rounds -- but difficult to use it in a championship with any prospect of success since BECs have been banished to Sports Libre.

BECs are certainly not 'banished' in the regs I've seen recently. All BECs seem to have ended up in the over 1700 Kit car class however.

Wouldn't concern yourself re -- sports libre , you were quicker than me at Brands Hatch in it , although in a different class at the time.

I ran my bike engined Fury in SL a few years ago because it had no reverse or cat, despite being road registed.

"Marmelade" (our Striker) is currently SORNed, and is without fripperies like reverse, lights, horn, instruments, etc. -- so cannot run in roadgoing. The configuration was designed to run (and be a winner) in ModSpecProd <1400. However, that turned out to be boring, as on the occasions during 2011-12 that we ran together in class (around Lydden and Brands) Chris and I tended to be within half a second of each other, and the next in class was ten seconds behind. For this year's regs, the bleats from the rest of class ("it may be legal, but it's not in the spirit of fair competition, old chap") were heeded, and motorcycle derived engines were banned -- hence Sports Libre :?
