You blew my previous best Abingdon course time away with your 46 sec's run --- my last run there in 2010 was 47.9 sec's with my 231bhp/600kgs spec (52.49 sec's Bentley), then of course I wrecked the head at Brands

How did the car look through there Rob? Ian Parr in the Busa Riot and the Rush thing where miles down the road from a times perspective...

Jeff , it was neat on chicane entry/exit with obviously loads of projection once out of it . When you appeared out of the last ' left ' before positioning to enter it was slower than I expected and not as deep which then forced you to be more cautious ---- having said that , most drivers of all classes were turning in early on the ' right ' then ' left ' pre- chicane complex . Personally I think covering more metres into both would have been quicker . Bet you wish you hadn't asked now

Couple of photos taken with my sons camera*, would have been better if the cones hadn't snuck into the view!
View some spectator spot was pretty dramatic, spins, cars up on 2 wheels and an Elise that stuck it into onto the big bank.

*racing driver excuse here, I actually took the rubbish photos so can't blame Ben.

Glad to hear that you all did so well,

Matt

I was originally planned for startline duties but the chicane was under manned so was marshalling there all day with Matt D and my son plus one other. Even then with four of us things were pretty busy --- I'd just previously warned a photographer that cars hitting that grass edge adjacent to the bank had been known to roll up it and over the top WHEN the Elise did exactly that --- puncture/tyre off rim first though and was lucky not to be hurt ----- the Elise was a big time mess though :o

Nope this is the sort of info I need. The right before the Chicane is flat but I only convinced my right foot of that on the last run. There is also a tendancy to straight line to the chicane entry which is what I was doing rather than treat it as a corner.

Well that's what the single seaters were doing but then with low torque , huge down force and very sticky slicks , they could afford to cover less ground and still turn in --- horses for courses . Shortest ain't necessarily quickest.

All I need now is for some part time marshall to observe my entry/exiting to explain why I can't beat you at Goodwood Jeff

Nice Pics Matt - Robs son Stuart, me, then Rob all in a row in the first one. & then Jeff plus my Volvo in the 2nd !!
(If we'd know you were there, would have come & had a chat  )

Only two bits of action all day on the sprint & we got it at the chicane - All hands on dealing with the Elise & then sweeping the leftovers up, plus someone deciding it would be better to do both sprint at the same time (split off Abingdon at chicane & joined Bentley at first double apex hairpin).

And then could have got run over 3 times at the rally yesterday.. :?
First - 4 cars into a chicane doesn't go.... In what was a badly judged adrenaline fuelled decision - Escort on back of the Q decided to overtake someone overtaking, braked & onto the grass, then T-boned the first car exiting. Missed the marshals post by sod-all (me plus other guy stepped back a bit quick :o )
Blocked exit route - so some idiot (ie me) had to stand on the chicane entry & slow the cars approaching (top gear, flat out, & trying to pass each other)).
Result - unsighted driver (trying to overtake), took to grass & missed me by sod-all (quick step forward), car passes behind, & stops just short of other damaged cars & marshals dealing with it.
Thirdly - having relocated the marshals post, later in the day, Mitsi Evo outbrakes himself, gets on the grass & spins straight thru the old position.

Warning Motorsport can be Dangerous (much better off in the car, not standing nearby watching !)

I wondered who those reprobates were in the background. If I'd known you were there I might have tried to do something to keep you amused as it sounds as though you didn't have enough to keep you busy ;)

So the official results have been published via email. Looks like I underperformed slightly as Bill beat me and I'm normally a couple of secs up the road from him in the dry. 19th overall though....must try harder.
