 is exactly how I feel about my 97s ;)

Congratulations on the win 8-) -- hopefully see you at Abingdon.

David

Many thanks David :D I've just sent off my Abingdon entry seeing as they don't process the cheques till June the 8th  I used to camp and stay over but don't fancy sticking the damn thing up these days --- never get any sleep anyway , everything hurts plus dying for the morning to come so's I can get off the ground  One BHR hip plus the other needing it , doesn't mix with camping very well

Rob

Have got my Abingdon confirmation -- only a question of making excuses from a prior social engagement

Used to stay in small hotels for distant events, but, now I'm "retired", I have taken to simply getting up very early in the morning. AA say 157 miles and three hours (possibly a little longer with the trailer).

All best

Abingdon and Lydden/Loton are the only venues I stayed over , every other track I've left between 4 and 6-00am to get there for scrutineering. 10 years of that have worn me down which is why I mostly just do Goodwood events now , mainly because it's a real circuit plus it can still scare me some :o Have to leave by 5-00am though :x

See you on the 12th then David :P

Spare gearbox back in car.

Hethel tomorrow. Hoping for reasonable weather (I don't have a "wet set-up"). Only JPSC competition is Nigel Fleming again (and son Chris in my car, of course :o ). Several Westies, as usual.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Short form: The gearbox (and most of the rest of the car, save only an inadequately tightened top hose popping off  ) performed well. Chris won his SBD/BARC, WSCC and B19 classes. Nigel and I had respectable days.

I'll post the complete results when I have them

(Any assistance on how to format tables on this forum greatfully received  )

The two practice runs were held in various degrees of light rain; there was a strong wind blowing so a quarter of on hour without rain dried the track noticeably. The first timed run was before lunch; it had stopped raining but was still quite slick. No rain during the lunch interval gave the wind a chance to dry the track quite a lot and grip levels improved enormously (except for puddles at the "roundabout") for T2. T3 was almost completely dry.
Chris and Dave Massey both had "four wheels off" in their first timed runs, though Dave's looked more like "four wheels in the next county". I was fined five seconds in my first timed run for clipping a cone at the first corner, and the same happened to Keith in the last chicane on his second run.
As the driver bearing the "7" number, Chris went last and had slightly the best of the track, but even allowing for that his final run was "very noteworthy" for commitment.

Only two JPSCs (both Strikers) were there, playing with nine Westies (mostly in the over 1700cc class, A6) and a Caterham!

The factory SBD Westfield took FTD in the hands of Matt Hillam with a time of 63.45s -- a very good performance against several single seaters despite its prodigious power and fabulous handling. For some organisational reason, Matt found himself in a class with two Peugeot 205s and a Renault Spider -- all of which had considerable trouble getting within 14 (yes, fourteen) seconds of him. He could almost be accused of pot-hunting ;)

Great fun was had by all.

Great result for Chris and you in what sounds like not ideal conditions  Any video clips ?

Sorry I haven't got a clue how to format a table either

Matt is a VERY quick driver whatever he's in , also the SBD chassis isn't really Westfield once Steve Broughton's finished with it . I saw him share a car with a regular FTD driver in 2008 , never having driven it before and took FTD himself
The new class structure for 2010 makes a few odd bed fellows -------- was he in '' modified limited production sports/saloon cars '' :?:
After lots of emails to Michael Duncan at the MSA this season , I have a letter confirming my car to be ellibible for modified -- etc etc AND sports libre  so stopped where I've been for 4 years in sports libre :)
The disagreement after reading the 2010 reg's came from the section on ' full rollcage ' required .
Great day for both of you , well done the SYLVA marque :P

Unfortunately Hethel, being the Lotus Sportscars factory, has a policy of stamping on any cameras found and their owners (same as MIRA). Video footage of Hethel, except from Lotus, is pretty rare.

Rob

I bought mine from Mel; hence Raw. Agree with you on Matt; He gave Ash Mason a tough time for a couple of years in his 2 litre road-going Westy. Last year the SBD car did not appear to handle that well -- but whatever they've done over the winter seems to have transformed it.

Yes , get your point re - RAW  . I just relate all cars originally designed by Jeremy , mine included , to be of '' the Sylva marque '' like this forum
