The scrute actually said to me, if I've got the paperwork & get refused, escalate to clerk of the course on the day & failing that ask for an official referral for an MSA ruling.

He was fed up with over zealous officals ruining other peoples fun, just because they could.
Particularly in current times when entry numbers are down.

Best of luck, I think you will enjoy it. Did my first sprint last Sunday at Curborough - very friendly people and even another (faster) Striker there too. Now have the bug and have entered the Lifeline Curborough Sprint Championship - well, someone has to come last!
Car was very tail happy, so if anyone has advice on how wide a wheel I can get on the back of a live axle Striker it would be welcome. I'm hoping the slicks will also give it considerably more grip next time.

I'd look to your set-up before the slicks . If it's tail happy now , it'll be tail happy with slicks PM me with your tyre make/pressures , chassis ride height under front lower rail and under seat pan rear , plus spring rate lbs and shock settings. I'd be happy to help a first timer I got no helpful advice at all when I started so worked it out for myself via competition and what made it quicker

Could you post the info here as well ? It could help others who want to improve their car. My live-axle Striker is surprisingly neutral, so would be interested to compare.

Well , the reason I did it via a PM was that set-up is individual to each car , engine , personal intentions / road/motorsport , plus it's owners own weight etc. Last time I did it openly to help someone on the sylva chat list , all I got was grief and someone being piccy regarding my choice of words Hence I no longer read it or post

Having not yet been shot at like Rob....................I'll agree that the set-up of your car is an incredibly subjective issue................however................in trying to set up my own car to my liking I've found the following quite useful http://users.telenet.be/miata/english/suspension/suspension.htm ..........................Oh, and for the less multilingual, "anti-sway" bars = "anti-roll bars"

..........after much gearbox hassle, leading to a totally untried car until....

.....finally, our first event of the year, tomorrow (Borough 19 MC, Honington)

Disappointing JPSC entry -- only other is Nigel Fleming with another 1600 Striker

Perfect day -- almost

Excellent weather, not a cloud. Seriously fast track laid out on the airfield. Joy to be driving (seriously) a kit again. Efficient and friendly organisation from Boro 19 MC. New gearbox was really nice to use until it locked the transmission solid before lunch -- so, an early bath.

Not all bad though: old friend Martin Hepworth (Westie/4AGE) won the class, and I think Nigel was second.
