Yes, warned for the practise and then slightly over on the 1st timed run. Still I think the removal from the results is punitive and doesn't fit the crime. Anywhere else my car is perfectly legal so why exclude me from the results...
Also something else to consider.
My car (with the decibel devil in ) was 98dB static @ 5250rpm but then did 103 and 101.5dB at Madgewick. Which means one of three things
1. The meter in the pitlane is wrong/out
2. The Madgewick meter is out of calibration/wrong
3. The relationship between the 105 static and 101 drive-by is nonsense.
I was 7dB under the static limit remember !

I did see this and was thinking of doing something like this with the striker as even though I had the new exhaust I still failed the noise driveby
It might well be Jeff.

More likely he has a lift off body

Do you know what the biggest silencer that fits inside a Phoenix sidepod? Definitely bigger than in a Fury where the space is a bit limited.
I had a 150mm one that had loads of spare space, so I'd guess that 175mm might fit.
If you are worried about heat then it might be possible to remake the sidepod in thin alloy (that would be a nice little project).

My current silencer is 180mm by 900mm.
I've been speaking to Steve at Fury Sportscars and we think there is room for an additional 10" silencer behind the rear wheel. So we would connect the two silencer with pipework above the wheel/axle and then have a rear exit rather than side. I think this will be the way forward.

Another point I've just recalled is that when I changed the original mild steel silencer to stainless steel --- up went the db's . So if it's not going to be seen then don't have stainless , it resonates much more . Although rather expensive , a carbon sleeve over the silencer quietens it down too , it's what was over my s steel ' can 'originally . I bought ' can ' and sleeve , ex-- Steve Broughton when he upped from 6 to 7 inch.

If Exhaust ending at the rear of the Car it should be enough with one Silencer, because the long Tube reduces noise a lot.A long Tube behind the Silencer works wonders.

I can't afford 'should be enough' with the cost of competing at Goodwood. As I said it was well under the static tests so I need to be at 95-96dB static to clear the drive-by.
