Decided to bail out (almost literally) before the last run of the day as the weather didn't look like it was getting any better. Another lesson learnt today....bed your new pads and discs in before attempting to sprint on them. In the only timed dry run I locked the front wheels up and ended up a foot or so from a long line of cones. You know that you are not threating the FTD time when you have to select reverse in the middle of the course.

Interesting course, to say the least and it was fun to meet the Hussey tribe and Brian in the mad Wankel Westfield.

Talking of the mad Wankel from NZ -- he came in with 4th FTD. The times were messed up by the rain starting during the first timed run, so the single seaters, who ran last, were disadvantaged. Chris, who ran in the "pretty much dry" section managed 2nd FTD in the Striker, but Brian (Tuxedo) produced his time on a "banzai" lap in the very wet second run. Impressive was not the word 8-)

So, that's our season over. I shall try to be a little quieter now for a month or two ;)

Thank you gentlemen. I still cannot believe the last run, neither can some others. The car ran well all day and after much thought and disscussion it now looks like the spire/radical may be shelved for now
It was great to meet you guys and put faces to names.
Cheers
Brian

Looks like its going to be sunny for this Sunday. I was just having a mooch at the results from sunday and Banzai it was. 6 seconds faster than anyone else in the wet, and the nearest in my class was 11 secs behind. I think the word "mental" is more fitting. My wife says I should be put in an institution

The news on my engine is expensive. ECU showed max rev's at just under 10,000 rpm , probably the 5th to 2nd on entry into PADDOCK  The rev-cut is 7750 rpm but it doesn't save you from over reving in these circumstances :(
Valves stems are bent , guides and tappets need replacing but all else is ok. By the time you add new ARP's , gasket set and tensioner pulleys(bit warn) , the old pension is going to get a battering
It's no use without the engine though so no choice
