Hi John
The cost for sprints depends on location, type of venue and MSA grading so somewhere like North Weald Airfield Nat B license would be about £70 to £90-100 at a Nat A license event on a proper race circuit such as Goodwood.
I have found now living in Herefordshire that the east of the country is noticeably cheaper than the west.

£75 should get you a day at the cheaper locations, as Duncan points out. Some (mercifully only a few) like Goodwood and Cadwell can cost £120 for the day.
Absolute best value, providing:
-- you know someone in (or who was in) the RAF, and
-- you are within striking distance of Grantham (where the events are held),
is to join the RAFMSA and take part in its "Speed Challenge". Because it's designed to give service personnel a cheap entry into motorsport, and is restricted to club members, it can cost as little as £35 for 8 (yes, eight) runs in a day
-- you don't even need a competition licence.
Let me know if that would appeal, and I'll try to find out if there is room for another associate member.

Hi David
Your last note was very interesting, is this linked purely to air bases at and around Grantham or does the championship encompass other venues away from the east, as I would be very interested!
Regards
Duncan.

Hi Duncan
The RAFMSA run five events per year, all at the specially laid out circuit at RAF Barkston Heath, near Grantham. There is one left this year, 4th October.
RAFMSA membership can also get you invitations to other club's events (but at normal prices).

Hi John
Spectators per se are not allowed at RAFMSA events, but, if you are willing to give it the whole day, we could meet up and you could follow me in as my "pit crew".

If you want to come on 4th Oct, just drop me a note a couple of days in advance. It'd be great to see you there.

First step though will be to go and watch some local sprints and see what the score is .
Yes but not much time this season!
One more quick question if I may ?What is the average sort of cost for the entrance fee for a sprint ?
John
Fees down here are £75 a day.
