Hello from Manchester

Hello All
I built this Sylva Striker below back in 1998-2000. After a few issues passing the SVA test I managed to get it on the road in April 2000.

Unfortunately after only 1000 miles I had a disagreement with a kerb coming off a roundabout in the wet (August 2000).

11 years down the line I think it's about time I repaired the car. My target is to take it around Oulton Park next year.

I have now pulled the damaged chassis tubes straight using a hydraulic power pack. Measuring across the corners the chassis still appears to be square.
Currently I'm fitting a new floor and re-panelling the the side.

Can anybody offer any advice on the re-pannelling. Is there a way of locating and re-using the existing rivet holes in the chassis or should I just drill new holes?

Hi and welcome,
the only thing i can suggest it to use a length of paper and mark the holes in this. then start with the outside edge drill and fix the first hole. use a smaller drill and find the rest of the holes. make sure you use big headed rivets and you should be good to go. :D

Double WOW :D - I dont even need one at the moment but I am going to order one anyway what a great tool. Use it like an insurance policy - If you have one of these ready in and prepared for replacing that damaged panel sods law is that you are never going to get the opportunity to use it.

Where abouts in Manchester are you? I'm over in Stalybridge/Hyde.

I like that tool. Can't believe I've not seen one before as the question has come up before.

Thanks again for your suggestion it worked really well. I was able to drill the holes for the new floor in half an hour.
Well worth the investment.
