Fury Build in Shropshire

Postby Darkspeed » Thu Dec 16, 2010 2:51 pm

Hello,

I have just purchased a Fisher Fury Spyder project as part of an estate sale - I went along to see a Ginetta G27 that was being sold and came away with both projects.

As I have a few other Ginetta projects on the go at the moment the build of the Fury is being shared as a 50/50 partnership with a friend who had a Fury on his hit list for the future after selling his Westfield - Both having Westfields at one stage I went the route of Ginetta and he went the route of Ducati but the Fury has been enough to reignite his interest - Not sure a tatty one with a pinto would have worked but :-

The car is a 2005 chassis - lightweight options in Oxford Blue
Ford Duratec on Omex management with throttle bodies
Stainless exhaust system manufacture unknown - but beautifully made
BGH close ratio box
Sierra LSD
Protec full adjustables all round
Revolution 4 spokes
Yoko's
Hi spec Billet Calipers
Hi spec Hubs
Lightweight discs
Half cage
Lightweight seats

There are still a good few boxes to go through to find out what else was specified for the build but all the parts are new with the exclusion of the G-box and axle which are fully reconditioned items. I suspect that 95% of the required parts are present.

I noticed a post on another thread about fitting a Duratec and I can hold testament due to the hole in the bonnet that there is a clearance issue ;)

Pictures will follow over the weekend. - Perhaps a couple with grinning lemons sitting in it

All the best

Andrew

Andrew,

Welcome. It sounds like you have picked up a nice package of bits there.

I assume you have found the http://build.fishersportscars.co.uk/ site which you might find helpful.

You could fill in your location as maybe someone is local to you.

Interesting.....I was told that the Duratec didn't fit under the bonnet of a fury

Jeff,

I think he hinted at the same

Are you thinking of another new engine?

LOL

Not really, I was speaking to BGH sometime ago and Steve mentioned that Mark tried to fit a Duratec for a customer and it would fit.

The engine apperas to be a Ford performance special build - supplied by a company called BPJ services

Mods we can see are large hole in bonnet to clear can cover - larger hole in bonnet to clear throttle bodies - Chassis rail cut and shut and plated to make room for the oil filter.

Not straight forward but not beyond

Welcome to Fury ownership. That sounds like a good spec'. How complete is it?

Sorry, I missed the line in the original post regarding holes in the bonnet. I'm surprised that it is for TB clearance I thought it would be just for the height of the engine.
