Hi everyone

Got myself a Raw Striker earlier this year - Live Axle, 16v 4 AGE Tracpac 1 (160 bhp). Spent most of year tweaking it for track day use - 15" Compomotives, 888's, Greenstuff pads, 4:44 Diff, underskinning/rear diffuser, Nitrons. Managed half a dozen track days - Llandow, Castle Coombe (again this Monday 18th).

Love it to bits, but as ever always wondering about next upgrade and more oomph??!!

Next mod will be Hi Spec 4 pots and Cossie grooved discs (next month)

On the look out for a decent Type 9 upgrade (long 1st, close ratio) if anyone is changing up.

Also got a single rear Spax coilover as other one failed - for sale or willing to purchase another to make a set?

Welcome to the forum.

If your upgrading the brakes look at the Wilwoods as well. I've read/heard of problems with the HiSpec calipers leaking and sticking.

Welcome - I remember you and your car from Llandow in May.

How about a roll cage next ?

Hi Adrian

Thanks for the info. I had thought about the Wilwoods. It was Martin at raw that pointed me towards the HiSpecs as their current recommended upgrade path. Has anyone else had bother with HiSpecs or good experience with another brand?

Hi Pete

Not sure if that is a good thing or not - hope the comment on roll cage isn't related to my driving??? Do you have a pic of you and your car so that i can make the link?

No problem with your driving :)
I suggested a roll cage, as that is on my list at the moment (if I keep it).

This is mine:

I've got Wilwood Powerlights on mine and I've had no problems with them either on road, track or full on down alpine passes (about as hard on brakes as you can get). Only thing I'd recommend would be not using the Wilwood smart pads and swapping to Mintex 1144s.
I think Ian Kelly on here had problems with his and I've read a few bits and pieces on RGB series cars having problems.

Recognise the car now. What are you running in it? Didn't see you at the Omex event in Sep? Are you really thinking of letting it go - any particular reason?

Just a tuned 1700cc crossflow. Didn't do the OMEX/CKC trackday in Sept as too much else on.

I am thinking about building a Phoenix, now that RAW are planning to develop and promote the car, but there again I might just put a better engine in the Striker and keep it - decisions, decisions ....

I've had HiSpec calipers before and had a number of issues (namely around customer service rather than the kit itself, although I had a number of failed seals) and I promised myself I wouldn't use them again. Wilwood all the way for me....
